Edgar Allan Poe

Fri Jun 27, 2008, 8:52 AM
  • Mood: Frustrated
  • Listening to: The A/C Humming in this sterile office.
  • Reading: 3 guesses
After reading a few volumes of Poe's work recently, it's desperatly hard not to get sucked into his downward spiral of bleak, dark literature. Accommpanied by long bus rides through industrial England, it's hard to admit that it still relates to this day and age.

Granted a lot has changed since the 1800's, but the dark, gritty theme continues. Although it's rose tinted now, with distractions of Big Brother and the other sludges of activity we for some reason call culture; but looking into the eyes and souls of some people, you can still sense that dispair, the stench of trapped rats sharing breeding/living/toilet mortal space. And yet the distractions are so mindless, the mindless are engrossed by further mindlessness, and left in a dreary state of being, no passion, no specialities, just the empty vessels of what could've been the most beautiful society the Earth would ever behold...Nevermore!

Just to add further meaning...

"If I could dwell,
Where Israfel hath dwelt,
And he where I,
He might not sing so wildly well a mortal melody,
While a bolder note than this might swell
From my lyre within the sky".

Earth Day...

  • Mood: Frustrated
I'm a little torn over today's Earth Day, I know what it's all about and everything, but gees man, there's 365 days a year, what's the excuse for only devoting ONE day to it. I see it as a bit of an insult, yet a good device to promote awareness for the Earth's captivating movements, but if it's only gonna be for one day, most people's attention is going to be distracted for the rest of those days, and one day is simply not enough to recover the cost to Mother Earth's.
I along with many others, who can hopefully see my point here, have been eco-aware for years now, and I don't know about you, but whenever I try and promote awareness for the rest of the year, I tend to get mocked about it, more than appreciated...to all those dumb fucks who do mock fellow comrades, know your place, one day we will see you all saved and you'll be the fools!

AND a big KUDOS to the protestors at the Unilever building, I saw you guys on the Beeb this morning, and of all the ways to protest against their on going, lame excuses for a company, that has to be one of the best, and I urge everyone who reads this to be wary of Unilever and the products they put on our shelves, PLEASE DO NOT BUY THEIR PRODUCTS. I've been steering clear of them for years, and what they're doing the environments of innocent wildlife for the sake of profit, should be considered murder, and a mockery to all of us who have inherited the Earth.

With voices raised, and hands held high, appreciate everything for what it's worth, and stop those who intend to ruin it for the rest of us. We are all responsible, and we will all be held accontable for what we do, and I for one will not sit by and quietly pass into the night whilst they do this to us, all of us. Every last one of you is being taken for a ride, every day.

The clock is ticking....wake up!

Good Maftering

Hello, to all, almost a year has passed since my last encouter with this encouter, and I couter this statement but having written it on the couter previous to this encounter...count that.

I lost count.
Things have been manic lately, not had much internet access for a while, and Christmas blew up New Year which in turn retalliated by bombing Easter, since then we've been covering the World in Chocolate...well it looks like chocolate, brown, runny, and turning sour in the sun...floods...snow...no sun...and an Earthquake...why not?

Blabblingly, blabbing away here.

aparenty for this surreal rant, the Middle East is still torn apart, the World is still ending, and rich people are still getting away with working an running corrupt businesses, and then saying there's an economy crisis...HOW THE FUCK A WESTERN GOVERNMENT CAN GET AWAY WITH THIS IS BEYONG ME...but they will, and everyone will just say how terrible it is...without even wondering why the hell the UK can have such a crisis, whilst at the same time spending billions...BILLIONS...on the arms trade...the ongoing, wars in Iraq, Afghanistan...just wasting our money, and SHIT we don't need, and now that this has come around no-one is saying, "If you guys in the "government" hadn't been FUCKING AROUND so much, this problem would've been resolved, before it was a problem.

Brown...you're a lying, scheming, devious git, and I can see lucifer in those black, empty eyes...anyone in there!?!

Blair...you're a fundamentalist freak, and using religion as an excuse to gain peace through force, is just an ellaborate way of calling yourself a terrorist. As a great musician once said, "There's other people feel as much as you, and Freedom's no Excuse for what you do". Thanks for the hole you've left us in.

The Hilary, O'Barma campaign...thanks for bickering between yourselves and not focusing your efforts AGAINST the republican campaign, because they've probably rigged this one too. I'm fucking sick of your playground politics, and the fact you've put US voters in a situation where they have to chose between a douche and a turn (South Park quote), doesn't do you any favours for the future.

And finally...the Beijing Olympics...this makes me sick to the point of tears...

The Olympic Games, are a perfectly harmless event in its self, but it should'nt give way to the tollerance, of oppressive nations like China, who abuse and kill people, civilians basically, on a daily basis, approx. 8 people are killed per day, they still impose the harshes forms of the Death Sentance and the way they run and treat their own country should not be put off because of this. I cannot believe that as the torch has been dragged through each country on it's way to Beijing, being met with all the protests and campaigns, the points and facts presented about China's human rights violations should be enough to expose their Facist government and impose ultimate shame on their behaviour.
The situation I see is this...
The torch bearer (bully kid), walks through a town center, full of people (bystanders)...a protestor (smart kid) steps out to stop the torch bearer in their tracks...the police/authorities/MPs (school teacher), pulls the protestor (smart kid) out of the way and let's the bully continue.
After this occurs over and over in each country, the torch bearer (bully kid) finally arrives at his/her destination, and beings to punch, kick and beat all those other more unfortunate children (The Olympic Games), once the ordeal is over, and the capitol of China is once again returned to the state it was, when the media (School Districts) are no longer watching their movements, China are safe to start committing human right violations again, the gorverning powers (teachers), will compliment the bully on a job well done, whilst the unfortunate kids are left to deal with their bruises and wounds, and cry alone, as they have been doing for decades.
The fact that people ignore this, it's what's so sick about it...

...I've lost interest in writing anymore because this whole situation is just so frustrating.

Is anyone with me at all?

It's nice to see that the change of season is bring a little more colour back into the aesthetic world, I can't help but think though that because of our situation is just providing a rose tinted view, nonetheless the sun is still alive for now at least.

I thought of my heroes and idols.
I tip-toed around life this morning on my way to work and went then wents in which I never went before, a strange road that took me to a strange place outside of life. Where people walked the streets...slowly...and took their...time.
However they took it from somewhere else, I thought "gees I wish I could get more time from these people!". Then turned and went back to life to find my own time had been taken following these strange roads, I guess whilst wishing for more time I lost more of my own time, and further time I have now lost and will continue to lose.
So please take the time to read the following article as a tribute to the great amount of time this man, this doctor of Gonzo, for his time is infinate, whilst we continue to lose ours.

The man of course is Doctor Hunter S Thompson and this article is what was considered to be the first of Gonzo Journalism titled "The Kentucky Derby is Decadent and Depraved".
